PNMC Imposes Six-Month Ban on New Nursing, Midwifery Institutions

Jarida Report

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC) has imposed a temporary six-month ban on establishing new nursing and midwifery institutions to clear a backlog of pending cases, according to sources.

The council has issued formal notifications regarding the restriction to the federal and provincial governments.

Under the temporary measure, the PNMC will not accept or process new inspection applications from prospective nursing and midwifery institutions during the six-month period.

However, applications submitted before the ban will continue to be processed, sources said.

New applications will only be entertained after the six-month period concludes and approval is obtained from the competent authority, according to the sources.
