ISLAMABAD: A government delegation led by National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq met JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad to discuss the ongoing political situation and deadlock in talks with the PTI.
According to sources, the delegation told Fazlur Rehman that the government was not responsible for the stalled negotiations and attributed the deadlock to the KP chief minister’s alleged refusal to cooperate on counterterrorism matters.
Fazlur Rehman stressed the need for dialogue, urging all sides to pursue negotiations in the national interest.
Ayaz Sadiq said talks had reached an advanced stage before the deadlock and reaffirmed that he would continue efforts to facilitate negotiations.
