US Imposes 50% Tariffs on 110 Canadian Products as Trade Tensions Escalate

Jarida Report

Washington: A new round of US tariffs targeting Canadian imports took effect shortly after midnight on Tuesday, placing 50% duties on 110 products.

The measures apply to a broad range of Canadian goods, including certain varieties of cheese, motorboats, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and furniture.

The latest tariffs represent a further escalation in trade tensions between the United States and Canada, expanding the number of Canadian products subject to higher duties when entering the US market.

The measures come as Washington and Ottawa remain locked in a wider trade dispute, with both governments having already introduced or threatened tariffs affecting billions of dollars in commerce between the two countries.
