Maryam Nawaz’s Daughter Mahnoor Set to Tie the Knot at Jati Umra

Jarida Report

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Mahnoor Nawaz, is set to get married on Saturday, with her nikkah ceremony expected to be held at the Sharif family’s Jati Umra residence.

According to a family source, Mahnoor is marrying a member of a prominent business family. The nikkah is expected to be a private ceremony attended by close relatives and members of the extended family.

Mahnoor has largely remained out of the public eye, and the Sharif family has so far disclosed few details about the wedding. No announcement has been made regarding a formal reception or other celebrations.

The ceremony comes shortly after Maryam Nawaz travelled to London to attend her daughter’s graduation. The Punjab chief minister returned to Lahore on Wednesday.

Mahnoor’s wedding follows the marriage of her brother, Junaid Safdar, to Shanzeh Ali Rohale in January.

Junaid, Maryam Nawaz’s son, married Shanzeh, the granddaughter of former legislator Shaikh Rohale Asghar, in a series of elaborate celebrations.

Those festivities included a green-themed mehndi, a grand baraat and an outdoor valima at the Sharif family’s Jati Umra estate.

Mahnoor’s nikkah, by contrast, is expected to be a more intimate family occasion, with no plans for larger celebrations made public so far.
