Gaza: The Israeli army said on Friday that it had killed three Palestinian commanders in the Gaza Strip whom it identified as members of the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.
“In a precise strike yesterday, Israeli forces and the Shin Bet security agency eliminated Mohammed al-Yazouri in the Khan Younis area,” the army said in a statement.
The Israeli military alleged that al-Yazouri was the commander of Hamas’s Khan Younis Brigade.
It also said Hudhaifa Muammar, whom it described as a “company commander,” and Muhammad Bahjat Rashi, identified by Israel as another member of Hamas’s military wing in the Khan Younis Brigade, were killed in the same attack.
There was no immediate confirmation or comment from Hamas or the Qassam Brigades regarding the Israeli claims.
The reported killings come amid continuing Israeli military operations in Gaza despite a ceasefire that took effect in October 2025. Since October 2023, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 174,000 injured, while much of Gaza’s infrastructure has been destroyed.
Separately, one Palestinian was killed and 13 others, including children, in Israeli attacks on Khan Younis in southern Gaza on Friday, medical sources said.
According to the sources, the body of the person killed and 12 of those injured were taken to Nasser Hospital after an Israeli drone struck a gathering of civilians at the Al-Sumoud displacement camp in the Al-Mawasi area.
Earlier, another Palestinian was critically wounded after an Israeli tank opened fire towards the Ard al-Limoun area in Al-Mawasi.
The attacks occurred despite the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect in Gaza since October 10, 2025.
In a separate incident, a Palestinian died from injuries sustained in an Israeli strike on a gathering of civilians in Gaza City’s Al-Daraj neighbourhood on Thursday.
