Security Tightened at Shifa Hospital Ahead of Deadline for Imran Khan’s Transfer

Jarida Report

Heavy security has been deployed outside Shifa International Hospital as the deadline approaches for implementing the Supreme Court’s order to transfer PTI founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail for medical treatment.

Senior police officials, including the Islamabad police chief, were present outside the hospital to review security arrangements ahead of the midnight deadline. Vehicles were also cleared from surrounding roads as part of the preparations.

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court ordered that Imran be shifted to Shifa International Hospital for treatment for the next few days. The court also directed authorities to facilitate weekly meetings between the former prime minister and his family.

The federal government subsequently filed a review petition challenging the order, describing the decision as “discriminatory in nature.”

Meanwhile, Imran’s sister Aleema Khanum arrived at Adiala Jail as the deadline for his transfer drew closer.

Authorities have yet to confirm when the PTI founder will be moved to the hospital.
