Police have released CCTV images of two suspects allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of TikToker Shamsoo Bibi, as investigators intensify efforts to track down those responsible for the attack.
The footage shows two armed men fleeing on a motorcycle without a registration plate. Both were wearing helmets, apparently concealing their identities.
Rawalpindi police said investigators had obtained important clues through Safe City cameras, other CCTV footage and technological surveillance.
Authorities have already detained four people, including two alleged facilitators of the principal suspects, and moved them to an undisclosed location for questioning.
The attack occurred two days earlier when two men on a motorcycle allegedly opened fire on Shamsoo Bibi’s car near a petrol station. She was struck in the neck and died at the scene, while her 15-year-old sister Asma was seriously injured after the vehicle lost control and collided with another vehicle.
According to the FIR, Shamsoo Bibi had received a phone call on August 14 from a man identified as Kashif alias Kashi, who allegedly asked her to come outside her home immediately.
She subsequently left in a car accompanied by Asma and her brother Naimatullah. Shortly afterwards, the two motorcycle riders allegedly attacked their vehicle.
Shamsoo Bibi’s father, Fazal Sahibzada, later reached THQ Hospital Taxila, where he identified his daughter’s body in the mortuary.
Police said efforts to trace the attackers were continuing and expressed confidence that the main suspects would soon be arrested and brought before the law.
