Traffic on both carriageways of the Malir River Bridge along the National Highway will remain temporarily closed from 7am to 7pm on July 18 and 19 due to construction work related to the Malir Expressway project, according to a Karachi Traffic Police press release issued on Friday.
The traffic police said the closure, which falls within the jurisdiction of the Malir City Traffic Section, is intended to facilitate the safe and timely completion of ongoing development work.
Motorists travelling from Quaidabad have been advised to take a U-turn at the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Expressway before proceeding towards Malir City to reach their destinations.
Drivers approaching from the Malook Hotel on the National Highway should pass beneath the Malir River Bridge and continue towards Steel Mills, the advisory said.
The Karachi Traffic Police urged commuters to use the designated alternative routes and follow traffic instructions during the temporary closure.
