AJK Warns Against Anti-State Campaign, Vows Action Against Banned JAAC

Jarida Report

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Home Secretary Chaudhry Guftar Hussain on Wednesday accused the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) of running a social media campaign to incite the public against state institutions and undermine law and order.

Speaking to the media, Hussain alleged that the banned organisation had made it a regular practice to promote what he described as an anti-state narrative and interfere in the affairs of AJK.

He further claimed that the group was using women, children and students as human shields, warning that involving students in protests put the future of the younger generation at risk.

According to Hussain, the committee’s activities include promoting anti-Pakistan narratives, speaking against the Pakistan Armed Forces, and disrupting the daily lives of ordinary citizens.

He said the group’s objective was not to safeguard public rights, but to challenge the writ of the state.

“No armed group will be allowed to challenge the writ of the state or hold the public hostage,” Hussain said.

He also alleged that such groups had carried out attacks on unarmed civilians and warned that those supporting unlawful activities would be held responsible for the consequences.

The home secretary added that the government would not be liable to pay compensation or damages to individuals involved in illegal activities.
