Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, on Sunday to discuss the evolving security situation in the Middle East following recent US strikes on Iran.
During the call, the two leaders exchanged views on the latest regional developments, with Dar urging all parties to adhere to the de-escalation measures outlined in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in June 2026.
Dar stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to resolving disputes and achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s willingness to continue playing a constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability through diplomatic engagement.
The two foreign ministers agreed to remain in close contact as tensions continue to simmer following the recent escalation between Washington and Tehran.
