Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has been referred to the UK Parliament’s standards watchdog following allegations that he failed to declare certain benefits.
The referral comes as Farage is already under investigation over whether he should have declared a £5 million donation from a cryptocurrency billionaire received before he entered Parliament.
According to The Sunday Times, Farage received security services, social media support and accommodation from longtime associate George Cottrell in the year before he was elected as an MP in 2024.
Farage’s spokesperson rejected the allegations, describing the report as “baseless and contrived” and stating that no parliamentary rules had been broken.
The latest referral was made by Liberal Democrat MP Josh Babarinde, who has called for an investigation into the new allegations.
