The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Babar Azam as captain of the national Test team for the upcoming tours of the West Indies and England.
The 16-member squad was announced by selection committee member Aqib Javed, alongside Asad Shafiq and former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
The appointment ends Shan Masood’s tenure as Pakistan’s Test captain. Masood has retained his place in the squad as a player, while Saud Shakeel was not included due to fitness concerns.
The PCB said the squad will represent Pakistan during the upcoming Test series against the West Indies and England.
