Jarida Report

Nigerian security forces have launched a search operation after Boko Haram militants kidnapped several students during National Examinations Council (NECO) exams in the country’s northeastern Borno State on Monday.

According to police and local residents, the attackers arrived at Government Day Secondary School in Lassa, Askira/Uba Local Government Area, wearing fake military fatigues and forest guard uniforms to pose as security personnel.

The militants opened fire, killing one teacher and injuring several others before abducting an undisclosed number of students.

Borno State Police Command spokesperson Nahum Daso confirmed the attack, saying security personnel have been deployed to rescue the kidnapped students and track down the assailants.
