PM Shahbaz Announces That US-Iran Have Signed The Islamabad MoU

PM Shahbaz Sharif in a post on social media platform X announced that presidents of both nations have electronically signed the Islamabad MoU and that it was endorsed by him as the mediator.

He also stated that Iran will immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz and that the United States of America will immediately lift the naval blockade

Furthermore he added that with the support of co-mediator, State of Qatar will host a ceremony in Switzerland on June 19 (Friday) to commemorate this historic and landmark achievement.

He lastly offered congratulations and expressed appreciation to the leaders of both US and Iran and the negotiating teams of both nations, as well as specially acknowledging the effort made by the State of Qatar in helping to reach this point. Further thanks was also extended to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Republic of Türkiye and the Arab Republic of Egypt for their crucial and invaluable contributions in this area.

Field Marshal Asim Munir was also highlighted in the X post for his tireless efforts, relentless dedication and instrumental role which PM Shahbaz deemed crucial in bringing about this breakthrough and furthering the cause of peace and stability.
