Severe Heatwave Forecasted by PMD Across Pakistan During Eid Holidays

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a severe heatwave across the country during Eid holidays.

According to details, the Met Office issued a heatwave warning for May 25 to 31, stating that intense heat is expected in several parts of the country during the festive break. The advisory has said that the temperatures may rise by as much as seven degrees Celsius above normal. Islamabad, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to record temperatures up to seven degrees higher than average.

The statement said Malakand, Hazara, Gilgit-Baltistan, Bagh and Neelum Valley are also expected to experience unusually hot weather. The PMD has said that several areas of Sindh and Balochistan will remain in the grip of extreme heat. In Karachi, the mercury is likely to reach 38 degrees Celsius.

Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures during the heatwave.
