Talks between the government and the opposition on Friday have failed, prompting the opposition to continue sit-ins at three locations in Islamabad demanding Imran Khan be provided access to his personal and specialist physician without any delay.
According to sources, Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry failed to persuade Opposition Leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai to end the sit-ins. Meanwhile all entry and exits to Parliament remain closed. The gates of the Parliament Lodges have also been completely sealed. Incidents of scuffles between police and PTI parliamentarians have been reported at the Parliament Lodges. The Sergeant-at-Arms has handed over security responsibilities to the police.
