The Punjab government and the World Bank have agreed to further strengthen their partnership across key development sectors.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met World Bank President Ajay Banga, along with his delegation, and warmly welcomed the visiting team. Both sides discussed expanding cooperation in health, education, housing initiatives, the “Suthra Punjab” program, tourism, and climate-related projects.
Ajay Banga praised the Punjab government’s welfare-focused initiatives and ongoing reforms. The World Bank president lauded Punjab’s progress in tourism, education, health, and skills development projects and reviewed World Bank–supported initiatives in various sectors. He assured continued support and investment in climate resilience, digital governance, and inclusive development.
