A joint session of the parliament will be held today, with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) confirming its participation. The session is expected to focus on key legislative matters after recent differences between the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and its ally PPP were resolved.
Earlier, the two parties were not aligned on proposed legislation, but consultations involving Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Naveed Qamar, Aijaz Jakhrani and others helped settle outstanding issues. As a result, both sides have reached an understanding ahead of the joint sitting.
