Following CM Maryam’s Approval, Lahore Will Be Split Into 2 Districts

Jarida Report

The capital city of Punjab is poised for a major administrative overhaul as Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved in principle to divide Lahore into two separate districts. The move aims to reduce administrative pressure and enhance service delivery in the province’s capital.

The decision, made in a high-level meeting, outlines that Lahore’s administrative restructuring will commence immediately after the Basant festival. Under the new arrangement, Deputy Commissioners, police, and municipal systems will operate separately in each district, ensuring more efficient governance and closer oversight of public services.
