On Sunday, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan outlined his main foreign policy goals ahead of his upcoming state visit to the United States. In an Ankara speech, Erdogan indicated that
the promotion of the Palestinian cause, the embrace of U.S. Turkey relations, and dialogue on Syria will shape his agenda.
His visit has occurred at a moment when Ankara is looking to exercise more influence over the region, but balances with both Washington and Moscow. Erdogan also highlighted that Turkey would remain contributing to humanitarian work in Gaza. The state visit that will apparently be held later this month is regarded as instrumental in settling strategic differences among NATO allies and broadening economic collaboration.
