Defence Minister and Pakistani Foreign office confused on the terms of the defence agreement with Saudia

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has been reportedly presenting conflicting statements about Pakistan’s latest defence agreement with Saudi Arabia. His words have been interpreted as a significant part of revelation regarding the pact’s nuclear dimension. As he appeared on a TV talk show on Thursday night, Mr Asif had said that Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities could be made available to Riyadh under the new framework. “What we have, and the capabilities we possess, will be made available to (Saudi Arabia) according to this agreement,” he said, which was a clear indication ramping the insinuations that Pakistan might be extending its nuclear arsenal.

The gravity of the situation lies in the weight of Mr Asif’s word not only as the Defense minister but also being present during the signing of the agreement in Riyadh.
