Jarida Report

The UN chief presented the oncoming 80th UNGA as “World Cup of diplomacy” that begins in New York on Monday. He pointed out that nearly 150 heads of state and government, alongside thousands of officials and diplomats, will participate in this.

With world leaders expected to converge on New York for the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the rising skirmishes and violence that is emerging as a result of Israel’s offensive in Gaza and Qatar and the way that is reshaping global diplomatic priorities will be discussed.

There will be significant implications for Pakistan’s engagement with the United States.
As Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is to address the General Assembly, there are expectations of him taking part in the high-level international conference for the ‘Peaceful Settlement ofthe Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution’.
