On Monday President Donald Trump confirmed that American troops conducted an airstrike on a Venezuelan ship in international waters, claiming it was being used to traffic drugs. Trump claims that the operation killed three people. This news comes at a time when Washington is stepping up its campaigns to prevent the movement of narcotics in Latin America or so they claim.
The government of Venezuela attacked the move, accusing the U.S. of political aggression in the name of counter-narcotics operations. This is not an isolated incident, as Venezuelan ships have been attacked on their own waters by US navy.
