The indictment of senior journalist Shahbaz Rana by a local court, has been increasingly condemned by representatives of key journalist bodies on Friday. During the emergency meeting at the National Press Club these concerns were voiced by office-bearers of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists and Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists.
Journalists have collectively announced to protest if their fellow wouldn’t be granted justice over this case against him which is based upon a complaint of an FBR official, who alleged that the journalist’s report was defamatory and scandalous. As the meeting reviewed the report, it was proven to be truly based on factual evidence.
