Putin Orders Faster Rocket Engine Development to Keep Russia Competitive

Jarida Report

President Vladimir Putin has pressed Russia’s aerospace industry to accelerate the production of rocket engines as the country seeks to safeguard its place in the global space market. Speaking during a visit to the Kuznetsov design bureau in Samara, Putin urged engineers and officials to modernize assembly lines and speed up the rollout of booster engines used in launch vehicles.

Despite Western sanctions, Russia has managed advances in energy and aviation engines, with projects such as the PD-26 aircraft engine and the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline cited as evidence of resilience. Putin stressed that similar momentum is needed in aerospace to meet domestic launch schedules and compete abroad. The directive highlights Moscow’s focus on maintaining technological self-reliance while navigating geopolitical and economic
