Suspected Russian assassins killed by Ukraine’s security agency after colonel’s murder

Jarida Report

Ukraine’s security service (SBU) says it has killed two suspected Russian FSB agents believed to be behind the assassination of a senior Ukrainian officer in Kyiv last week.

Colonel Ivan Voronych was shot dead in broad daylight on July 10. Surveillance footage showed the killer using a silenced pistol before fleeing. Days later, the SBU tracked down a man and a woman allegedly involved in the hit. When officers moved in, the pair resisted arrest and were killed in the operation.

The SBU called it a direct response to Russian intelligence operations on Ukrainian soil. Moscow has not yet commented on the incident.
