Duplantis Not Worried About Delayed World Championships in Tokyo

Jarida Report

Swedish pole vault star Armand Duplantis says he’s completely unfazed by the later-than-usual World Athletics Championships set for mid-September in Tokyo. Speaking ahead of the Monaco Diamond League, the Olympic and world champion said the shift in schedule actually suits him, as he typically peaks later in the season anyway.

Duplantis, who holds the world record at 6.28m, is eyeing another big jump in Monaco and hinted at chasing the meet record of 6.02m. After that, he plans to take a short break before gearing up for the championships.

With 39 Diamond League wins under his belt, Duplantis remains calm, confident, and ready to chase more history—no matter when or where he competes.
