Humaira Asghar Ali, a Pakistani model and actress, was finally laid to rest on Thursday in Lahore’s Model Town graveyard, days after her decomposed body was discovered in a DHA Karachi apartment. She had reportedly been dead for 8 to 10 months.
Initially, reports claimed her family refused to claim the body, but her brother later clarified that legal formalities delayed the process. He denied abandoning her and said they had been in touch with the police and welfare trust handling her remains.
Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the cause of death couldn’t be confirmed immediately. Further tests are being done, and police say if any foul play is suspected, a proper case will be filed. The low attendance at her funeral reflected the tragic end of a once-public figure now lost in silence.
