Mohsin Naqvi Urges Religious Scholars to Safeguard Peace During Muharram

On July 2 in Islamabad, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi convened with scholars from all religious schools of thought, underlining their essential role in upholding law, order, and sectarian harmony during Muharram. He emphasized that their ongoing communication with authorities is vital for preventing disputes and ensuring peaceful observance of Ashura. With security forces and scholars collaborating, strict measures—such as banning sectarian content, designating public holidays, and deploying personnel—are in place nationwide. Naqvi also invited these scholars to collectively lead Zuhr prayers on August 14 at Faisal Mosque to send a message of unity
