Woman Killed in Mortar Attack During Gunfight in South Waziristan

A 47-year-old woman died Sunday night in Kot Langarkhel village, Upper South Waziristan, after a mortar shell struck her home amid a gunfight between militants and security forces. The exchange also wrecked residences in Ghowak and Sultana, with shells landing across three villages. The critically injured woman was rushed to Ladha Civil Hospital, where she later passed away  . Members of the Mehsud tribe protested outside Ladha Fort, calling for an investigation. Local authorities extended condolences, pledged financial support, and launched a probe into the incident.
