A UK soldier stationed near the British Army Training Unit in Kenya (Batuk) is accused of raping a British national, not a Kenyan, the UK Ministry of Defence has confirmed. The incident allegedly occurred last month near the base in Nanyuki, about 200km north of Nairobi. The soldier has been arrested and returned to the UK, where the military is now investigating the case under its own jurisdiction, without involvement from Kenyan authorities. This is the latest in a series of misconduct allegations linked to British troops at the Batuk facility.
