Eight Migrants Drown After Being Forced Off Boat Near Djibouti

Jarida Report

At least eight migrants drowned near the coast of Djibouti after smugglers forced them off an overcrowded boat. The incident occurred during an attempted crossing from Yemen, a route often used by migrants from the Horn of Africa seeking better opportunities in the Gulf. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) condemned the act and highlighted the ongoing risks migrants face due to human trafficking and unsafe migration routes. Rescue efforts were launched, but several people remain missing.
