Jarida Report

On May 14, 2025, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced significant development initiatives for Faisalabad, including the launch of a metrobus service and the introduction of green electric buses. These projects are part of a broader plan to transform Faisalabad and its surrounding areas into model communities, drawing inspiration from Lahore’s development model. The announcement was made during the Laptop and Talent Scholarship Phase II ceremony at GC University Faisalabad.

In addition to the development plans, CM Maryam conducted a surprise inspection in Kamoke, Gujranwala. During her visit, she ordered the sealing of a petrol pump found under-measuring fuel. She also assessed sanitation conditions, expressing dissatisfaction with the cleanliness levels. She directed daily waste collection, strict action against sanitation violators, and the cleaning of drainage systems ahead of the monsoon season. Furthermore, she instructed the renovation and lighting of the Kasoki Road underpass and called for the removal of encroachments in the area.

CM Maryam emphasized the importance of unity among the nation’s leadership, armed forces, and citizens, attributing recent national victories to this collective strength. She paid tribute to those who sacrificed for the country’s defense and highlighted Pakistan’s military achievements, including the downing of Rafale jets by JF-17 Thunder jets.
