130 Passengers Rescued After Boat Runs Aground in Haripur

On April 6, 2025, a boat carrying approximately 130 passengers ran aground near Tarbela Dam in Haripur district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. All passengers were safely rescued without any reported injuries. The incident was attributed to overloading, as the boat exceeded its capacity limit of 70 passengers. Authorities have taken the boat operator and his assistant into custody and are considering legal action against them and the boat owner.
