LUCKNOW: A 70-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted and killed in Mohanlalganj after she objected to two men drinking alcohol near her home, according to police.
Police identified the accused as Rajesh alias Guddu, 30, and Hariram Rawat, 34. Investigators allege that an argument broke out after the woman confronted the men, who then assaulted her.
According to the police account reported by Times of India, the woman suffered fatal injuries after allegedly falling against the leg of an iron cot during the assault. Police said the accused later moved her body to a dark area behind the house in an alleged attempt to conceal the crime.
An FIR was registered at Mohanlalganj police station, and both suspects were arrested. Police said CCTV footage, technical evidence and local intelligence helped identify them.
The allegations remain under investigation, and the accused will face the legal process as the case proceeds.
