A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Shakargarh, Narowal, with the incident coming to light around seven months later after doctors discovered she was pregnant.
According to the girl’s father, the suspect allegedly entered their home when she was alone and sexually assaulted her. He further alleged that the man threatened to kill the girl if she told anyone about the assault.
The family learned of the alleged crime after the girl’s health deteriorated and she was taken to hospital, where doctors informed them that she was seven months pregnant. The girl subsequently told her mother about the alleged assault.
Police at Shakargarh City Police Station registered an FIR against the suspect, who reportedly fled the village after the matter was reported.
The case follows another alleged sexual assault involving a minor in Kabirwala, Khanewal, where police recently arrested a man accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.
According to the complaint, the girl was waiting outside her school when the suspect offered to take her home but allegedly took her to his residence instead and sexually assaulted her. The FIR also states that the suspect threatened the girl during the alleged attack.
Police arrested the accused after receiving the complaint.
