At least 10 people lost their lives and 36 others were injured when a passenger coach travelling from Karachi to Dera Ghazi Khan crashed into a road divider and overturned on the Indus Highway in Rajanpur district.
The accident occurred near Sitara Pump in the Bangla Hidayat area of Rojhan tehsil.
According to Rescue 1122, the victims included eight men, one woman and a young girl. Women and children were also among those injured in the crash.
Initial reports indicated eight fatalities, but the death toll later increased to 10 as rescue officials confirmed additional casualties.
Rescue officials said the coach was reportedly travelling at excessive speed when it struck the divider and overturned.
Authorities are also examining whether the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, although the exact cause of the accident has not yet been confirmed.
Emergency response teams reached the scene and began providing medical assistance to the injured passengers.
Rescue 1122 reported that 12 people received first aid at the accident site, while 20 injured passengers were transported to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Rojhan.
Five passengers with critical injuries were subsequently referred to Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan for advanced medical treatment.
