Zidane Iqbal Set To Become The First Footballer Of Pakistani Origin To Play In The FIFA World Cup

Zidane Iqbal was born to a Pakistani father and an Iraqi mother. He was signed to Manchester United Youth System at the age of 9 in. A youngster with immense talent and potential. He is currently playing for a Dutch professional football club, Utrecht.

In January 2022, he was called up to the Iraq national Team. He made his debut in a 1-0 loss to Iran on 27th January 2022. On 26th March 2024, Iqbal scored his first international goal during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification match in a 5-nil away win against the Philippines. He will now be in the Iraq National Football Team competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which qualified after 40 years.
