Zardari, Xi Hail Positive Pakistan-China Ties, Reaffirm Support on Core Issues

On February 5, 2025, President Asif Ali Zardari met with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Both leaders acknowledged the positive trajectory of Pakistan-China relations and reaffirmed their mutual support on core issues. They discussed enhancing their bilateral partnership through continued high-level exchanges and emphasized the importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in promoting regional connectivity and shared prosperity. President Zardari praised China’s development under the Belt and Road Initiative and invited President Xi to visit Pakistan, highlighting the deep respect the Pakistani people have for him. The meeting concluded with the signing of memorandums of understanding to bolster cooperation in science and technology, media, clean energy, and socioeconomic development.
