WB, ADB Approve Multi‑Million-Dollar Loans to Boost Education, Water Access & Women’s Empowerment

The World Bank and Asian Development Bank have approved major loans to support Pakistan’s social development. The World Bank green-lit a sizable education and power package aimed at expanding access and infrastructure. Meanwhile, ADB approved $330 million to strengthen the Integrated Social Protection Development Programme—improving children’s schooling, health services, and nutrition—and a $155.5 million financing package focused on women’s financial inclusion, Kenya-led SMEs, and regulatory reforms  . These efforts aim to enhance human capital, water access, and gender equality nationwide.
