Viral Chinese AI Video Mocks Trump’s Tariffs with Satirical Depiction of U.S. Sweatshop Workers

Jarida Report

A Chinese AI-generated video mocking U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff policies has gained significant attention on social media platforms. The 32-second clip depicts overweight, somber American workers laboring in a textile factory, accompanied by traditional Chinese music. It concludes with Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again,” serving as a satirical jab at the U.S. administration’s trade approach.

This video surfaced amid escalating trade tensions between the U.S. and China. Following Trump’s announcement of a 125% tariff on Chinese imports, China retaliated with 84% tariffs on U.S. goods. The AI-generated content reflects China’s response to these heightened tariffs and recent comments by U.S. Vice President JD Vance, who referred to Chinese factory workers as “peasants,” drawing sharp criticism from China.

Chinese social media users have embraced satire to comment on the trade conflict, creating memes and videos that humorously critique U.S. tariffs and their potential impact on American workers. These creative expressions highlight concerns that such policies might lead to job losses or increased automation rather than the revival of domestic manufacturing.

The viral nature of this AI-generated video underscores the role of digital media in international discourse, allowing individuals to express opinions and critique political decisions through creative and accessible content.
