The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) plans to introduce a new utility ghee brand at prices lower than those in the local market. The tendering process for this initiative has been completed. USC Zonal Manager Shahzad Khan stated that applications have been invited from ghee mills and firms, with tenders set to open on April 4 at the USC head office for the procurement of 65,000 metric tonnes of vanaspati and 32,500 metric tonnes of cooking oil. These products will be distributed across various zones nationwide based on demand. The new ghee brand is expected to be available in stores after Eidul Fitr. Additionally, USC is restructuring 150 stores across the zone and is offering sugar at Rs15 per kilogram less than the open market price, along with other essential items such as dates, beverages, special gram flour, rice, and ghee. Efforts are also underway to reduce expenses and increase sales, with online monitoring being implemented for transparency and prompt resolution of customer complaints.Â
