The United Kingdom has implemented a new law affecting dual citizens, requiring them to enter the country using a British passport only.
According to the Home Office, effective February 25, 2026, dual nationals will not be allowed to board flights, ferries, or trains to the UK without a valid British passport. The new rules also mandate an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for all travelers, with a fee of £16. Those wishing to travel using a non-British passport must obtain a Certificate of Entitlement costing £589, which many have criticized as expensive and unfair.
