On Friday, May 23, 2025, two women were fatally shot in separate incidents in Karachi, both allegedly involving their husbands.
Gulshan-i-Maymar Incident:
Aqsa, 22, was killed in her home in Esa Goth. Her husband, Ismail, claimed he was cleaning his pistol when it accidentally discharged, striking her. She was pronounced dead upon arrival at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police are investigating to verify Ismail’s account.
Mominabad Incident:
In Orangi Town’s Fareed Colony, Rukhsana, 56, was shot by her husband, Gul Sher, 58, following a domestic dispute. She succumbed to her injuries at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Gul Sher fled the scene and remains at large.
These incidents underscore ongoing concerns about domestic violence and firearm safety in the region.
