Two More Bodies of Libya Boat Tragedy Victims Arrive in Lahore

Two Pakistani nationals, Sufyan and Nadeem Ahmed from Gujranwala, died in a boat tragedy off Libya’s eastern coast between April 12 and 13. Their bodies were repatriated to Lahore on May 4, 2025. State Minister for Public Affairs Rana Mubashir Hussain and Member of Punjab Assembly Mian Imran Javed received the bodies at Lahore Airport, where funeral prayers were offered before returning them to their families. Hussain expressed condolences and announced stricter laws against human traffickers, some of whom have been arrested while others remain at large. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has initiated multiple inquiries into the incident .
