Trump Shares Video Claiming to Show Deadly U.S. Strike on Houthis in Yemen

Jarida Report

On April 5, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump shared a video on his Truth Social platform, purportedly depicting a U.S. airstrike targeting Houthi fighters in Yemen. The black-and-white footage, resembling typical military drone recordings, shows a group of individuals gathered in a loose oval formation along a road. A bright flash occurs in the center, followed by billowing smoke and a crater at the impact site. Trump captioned the post: “These Houthis gathered for instructions on an attack. Oops, there will be no attack by these Houthis. They will never sink our ships again!”

This action is part of a series of U.S. military operations in response to Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping routes. On March 15, 2025, the U.S. announced a military offensive against the Houthis, aiming to use overwhelming force until the group ceases its attacks on vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. The initial wave of airstrikes reportedly resulted in significant casualties among Houthi leaders and fighters.

The Houthi group, backed by Iran, has been targeting commercial and military shipping, claiming these actions are in response to Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip. In retaliation, the U.S. has intensified its military presence in the region, including deploying additional aircraft carriers to promote regional stability and protect maritime commerce.

These developments have raised concerns about escalating tensions in the Middle East, with potential implications for international trade and regional security.
