In a major shift, former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a fresh weapons package for Ukraine, including advanced Patriot missile systems. The deal, made with NATO allies, means the U.S. will supply the weapons while partner countries cover the costs.
Speaking alongside NATO’s Secretary General in Washington, Trump also issued a stern warning to Russia: agree to a ceasefire within 50 days, or face 100% tariffs and sanctions—even on countries buying Russian oil.
The move signals a tougher tone from Trump, who previously pushed for direct talks with Moscow but now appears to be combining diplomacy with pressure. Several NATO nations, including Germany, Sweden, and the U.K., have already committed funds to support the new plan.
