Tragic Fire in Hyderabad Kills 17, Including Eight Children

A devastating fire broke out early Sunday morning in a three-story building near Hyderabad’s historic Charminar, killing at least 17 people, including eight children. The building, located in the Gulzar Houz area, housed a jewelry store on the ground floor and residential units above. Authorities believe the fire was caused by a short circuit. The structure had only one narrow staircase and a single exit, which was blocked by the blaze, trapping occupants inside. Most victims died from smoke inhalation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief and announced financial aid for the victims’ families.
