Three Family Members Killed in Dumper-Car Collision on Karachi’s Northern Bypass

On May 11, 2025, a speeding dumper truck collided with a car on Karachi’s Northern Bypass near Hamdard University, resulting in the deaths of three family members: Sulaiman (60), his son Usama (35), and their relative Faraz Sikander (40). The victims were en route to Gulshan-e-Maymar when the accident occurred. The dumper driver fled the scene but was later apprehended by police. This incident contributes to the alarming rise in traffic accidents involving heavy vehicles in Karachi, with nearly 500 fatalities reported in 2024 alone.
