South Africa delivered a commanding performance to defeat India by 76 runs in the Super Eight match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, bringing an end to India’s remarkable winning streak in the tournament. Chasing a challenging target of 188, India’s batting lineup faltered under pressure and collapsed dramatically. Wickets fell in quick succession as the Proteas bowlers dominated proceedings.
Shivam Dube was the top scorer for India with 42 runs, while Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav contributed 18 runs each. Apart from these contributions, none of the Indian batters managed to make a significant impact, and the entire side was bowled out for 111 in the 19th over. South Africa’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Marco Jansen, who claimed four wickets in a decisive spell.
